These procedures and appointments are some of the most rewarding. There are a few different reasons a women would choose to have her areolas tattooed. Breast reconstructive surgery due to breast cancer or an accident, mastitis (inflammation of the mammary glands which can affect the color and shape of the areola), or scarring around the areola due to breast augmentation or a breast lift. Sometimes a client will have perfect and healthy areolas and simply wants to enhance the color, they are too pale, or she wants them a little pinker or browner. Areolas can be done so beautifully and artistically. With light and dark shading techniques and an artist’s eye I can incorporate mammary glands and even give the illusion of a nipple if a prosthesis was not used. Here are a couple examples of my work. Some of these pictures are healed and some are taken right after the procedure and will lighten about twenty percent. If you or someone you know has had reconstructive breast surgery due to breast cancer and are interested in this procedure you are welcome to come in for a free consultation.
